PART II – DUTIES
A. POST CONTEXT:
The post acts as Electrician/Electrical Technician and provides electrical expertise supporting the Austrian National Support Element (AUT NSE).

B. REPORTS TO:
Works under the general supervision of the AUT NSE.

C. PRINCIPAL DUTIES:
  1. Provides preliminary electrical drawings, cost estimates, forecasts and change for work requests such as SEAHut remodeling, power generation and heating, ventilation and air conditioning installation and lighting system.
  2. Manages the scope, development and design of MV (Medium Voltage) and LV (Low Voltage) electrical systems.
  3. Provides assistance in designing electrical systems/equipment to provide useful and safe workplaces.
  4. Advises requesting departments regarding systems/requirements available to meet their needs and comply with safety codes. Independently inspection of systems and equipment to ensure workplace safety.
  5. Monitors installation of designed equipment/systems to ensure compliance with design specification and safety codes.
  6. Responds to requirements for changes in existing systems/equipment to modify the system to obtain desired results in a safely and in a cost effective manner.
  7. Assists in providing electrical estimation and construction design as well as modification of electrical system while meeting safety codes, specifications and budgetary requirements.
  8. Ensures the new modification/or updates of electrical systems are compatible with the existing system and operate safely without causing and overload.
  9. Monitors all preventive maintenance, work procedures on electrical systems, and provides quality assurance expertise for PWS Electrical System and PWS HVAC.
  10. Produces associated drawings and instructions.

Performs other related duties as assigned.

PART III – QUALIFICATION

A. ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Professional Experience:
  • Minimum three (3) years of related experience in public works as an Electrician.
        2. Education / Training:
  • Secondary Education with a vocational training in the field of Electrical or Electro-technical Engineering.
  1. Security Clearance:
  • Required favorable screening check conducted every six months during employment
  1. Language:
  • Fluent in reading and speaking German Language or at least English Language

B. DESIRABLE QUALIFICATIONS:
  1. Professional Experience:
  • Five (5) years experience managing facility infrastructure on diverse facilities.
     2. Education / Training:
  • Completed apprenticeship training in the field of Electrics (ISCED-Level 3 or NQR-Level IV).
  • Field experience of mechanical and electrical equipment hook-up and installation.
  • Field experience working with Low and Medium voltage electricity and systems.

Personal Attributes:
  • The Electrician/Electrical Technician must be professional, experienced and reliable to complete required and additional tasks in a professional manner and within an acceptable period.
  • Must be highly motivated and have strong work ethics.
  • He/she must be able to work on their own as well as a team with the other staff members in accomplishing assigned tasks.
  • Good oral communication skills, listening and persuasiveness are crucial to the incumbent’s effective coordinating responsibilities.
  • The  incumbent  must  show  organizational  sensitivity and  environmental  awareness  as  well  as problem analysis skills and critical thinking. May be requested to work under pressure, for long and/or irregular hours, also on short notice.

Managerial Responsibilities:
The duties of this position require no specific leadership training. The position works in autonomy in its area of expertise, with sufficient authority to make routine decisions. Non routine decisions will need acknowledgement of its supervisor.

Professional Contacts:
The incumbent will have routine contact with Austrian National Support Element (AUT-NSE).
When the AUT-NSE requires, work may be throughout the AUT-NSE area of responsibility.
Supervisor determines whether contact with external contacts is necessary.

Contribution to the Objectives:
Is expected to integrate well into the team within the AUT-NSE and add to the effective management of the tasks for which the team is responsible.

Work Environment:
Works in a multinational and multicultural environment with a broad range of activities. Day travel to other camps may be required.
